How Links Power Search Results in Search Engines

Google Conspiracy Link BaitWell I am a sucker for some good link bait and I found a nifty article here about how search results, " Google in Particular " rank a web site for specific search terms. Seems Johnathan Ledger isn't a big fan of Google pagerank, I applaud you, however if you don't have a good page rank the rest of the affiliate world won't look at you for 2 seconds if you have a PR 1. True enough its a poor way of displaying a websites traffic source. You might want to check out my Google Conspiracy No.2 on PageRank.

Problems with pagerank is obvious is that its abused, sold and poorly understood. Links have a great deal of influence with your search results however I am seeing PR1 websites ranking all over the board for 100 million plus in competitive search results in google in particular. Seems the google algorithm is being changed which is allowing newer sites to become more competitive in search, along with a nifty feature I can't get enough of lately that allows you to rank your homepage with all the might of link weight for a term once its being refresh cached.

I just made up that word, I think google has implemented a interesting new feature allowing news websites to target their home page with very little weight put on the title tag and more on the content of the body. Seems that the page is cached into the google small index and then ranked for the specific keyword and then when your deep page is indexed , ranked appropriately for the title tag in the page. Have they always done this? Maybe I just never had a old enough website with new enough content to take advantage of this feature until now. I like this new refresh bump you get for specific keywords on your homepage, it creates a buzz factor for your website and helps you a great deal in getting known. As well its all about the links, but its more about how kind that someone is that actually adjusts the Google Sandbox to accommodate your new website with a Quality Score.
