אתמול אחרי שעות שניסיתי להבין למה השרת
מחזיר לי כל הזמן
"Error establishing a database connection"

הוא פתאום החליט לעבוד. אלא שאחרי
ששיחקתי עם המערכת קצת כדי להכיר אותה,
מחקתי והחלטתי להתקין מחדש. והנה יום
חדש...

התקנתי שוב את התוכנה XAMP

ואז עברתי ל-WAMP

ושום דבר. עדיין אותה הבעיה.

בפורום בחו"ל קראתי שזה אומר שיש בעיה ב
SQL והם ממליצים להוריד גרסאות ספציפיות.
גם את זה עשיתי אבל זה לא עזר. מישהו יכול
לעזור?

אתמול הרצתי XAMPP והגדרתי הכל כמו שכתוב
במדריך. בהתחלה זה לא עבד. בדקתי שוב ושוב
את הקובץ CONFIG אבל הכל היה שם בסדר.

כל הזמן קיבלתי הודעת שגיאה של: Error
establishing a database connection

החלטתי להריץ XAMPP כ-SVC. ואז זה עבד...

אחרי הרבה שינויים שהתחלתי לעשות בבלוג
החלטתי להתחיל לבנות אותו מחדש ומחקתי
את הבלוג. באתי להתקין אותו שוב ומאז
ההודעה לא מפסיקה להופיע: Error establishing a
database connection

התנתי WAMP5 כי אולי הבעיה בתוכנה הראשונה.
אבל הכל מניב רק משפט אחד: Error establishing a

I've no idea what you mean by "parked and forwarded", but the API code
compares the key with the value of the various parts of window.location.
If your parking and forwarding changes that, then you'll need to
register a new key.

Hint: go to your page and then paste this into the address bar of your
browser:
javascript:alert(window.location)

Be aware that the API considers directory names to be case sensitive (in
accordance with the relevant RFC standards), even if you happen to use a
webserver that doesn't use case sensitive directory names (it has no way
of knowing such details about your webserver), so a key for
http://www.domaim.com/foo/
will work for URLs that begin
http://www.domain.com/foo/bar/
it won't work for URLs that begin
http://www.domain.com/FOO/bar/

You may want to consider the 'LIMIT' option in your MySQL queries to
allow a user to view the "top" 20,30,or 40" points on the map and then
have another link that can display all 100.
This would be more efficient across the board in terms of the general
publics Net Connection speed.
Of course, if you know that your audience's connection speed won't be
an issue, then I say go for the implementation you have in mind.

Another option would be to have a PHP script/class that makes the
query, create an XML file with all the points. Then just read the XML
file for all the necessary points.

yourself outside a map, how?

Hey Esa,

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried your suggestion, but
unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work. I did the following when adding
the new map type

myMap = new GMapType(customTileLayer, customProjection, "<span
onclick='mapTypeClicked(this)'>Test</span>", {errorMessage:_mMapError})
;

The type button shows those html text as pure text. Looks like the API
doesn't allow this. And so.. even the function doesn't get called
either.

I've created a key for my 'directory' and have a working app. But
i created a new domain name, and have parked and forwarded to
point to a subdirectory. I have tried the original key
and was hoping it would work, since that domain is the parent
directory to all the little subdirs under it; even if it is a separate
domain name.
I had hoped that either the parent directory key or a separate domain
name
( different URL that generated the key) would work. Nope.
Has somebody figured out how to have the key work under those
circumstances, where the subdirectory is another domain name?

What I mean by that is I have found one site that is very simular to
what I would like this one to be and several others that are close. In
the end, they are all sites that take advantage of the Google Maps API,

I had problems finding a suitable API command or help in the forum to
keep my markers from drifting while zooming in/out. I bit the bullet
and just implemented my own code. You can double click to zoom in, as
well as use the zoom control to adjust the display. The following is

Just wanted some general pointers before I started building my map.
I'll be displaying up to a 100 points within a zoomed-in city level
from a database...is the best way to do this just to do the mysql query
and echo the points out into an array for javascript to read?

There was similar problem with zoom. Zoom buttons were located by there
title attributes in this thread:

The loop was written by Wyrlon.

Unfortunately type buttons don't have title attributes in v2. But isn't

them. So you can just poke the .size property and redraw the einsert.

Right. Hybrid is formed by street .png images on satellite .jpeg
images. That's all I advice. The adjustment is not a simple task.

I've seen a few post on this subject, but just wondered if there was
yet any possible way to adjust the normal map position with respect to
the satellite one (or vice versa)?

I'm assuming the hybrid is a combination of two types rather than a
seperate tile server in its own right.

I guess its just not possible at the moment, but if anyone from the
google team happens to read this, perhaps you could think about
allowing us to specify such adjustments through the api, maybe by way
of a latlng offset for a given latlng area or something, or perhaps
just a single global latlng offset, which we could adjust depending
upon maps center etc. Then have the api take the offset into
consideration when rendering the maps.

It was pretty easy to figure out how the exploit worked once you saw their first attempt at fixing it.

So obviously the exploit involves inserting things into @INC when this script is ran as root.  So, how is this script ran as root?

Smart readers will realize that the above patch is pretty stupid attempt at stopping the exploit.  Several hosting companies with hacked servers had to intervene to make sure cPanel fixed it correctly.  In new verisons of cPanel, cpwrap now appears to clean out environment variables before executing things.  But don't worry, there are several local root exploits all over cPanel waiting to be discovered.  I have discovered 2 more on the same day that I discovered how this one works.

Hi,

Here's what I did. I have a custom map type which currently supports
zoom level 15 to 17. I just added an event listenter for zoomend event
so that if the user changes the zoom level below 15, they will see
default google map instead of seeing the tile that says you need to
zoom in more. Now, here's the problem, since I changed the map type
based on zoom level, if the user clicks on the map type buttons to
change the map to the custom map again, they'll see those "zoom in
required" tiles. I can't use another event listener for maptypechanged
becuase that'll kick in as soon as zoomend event listener starts, since
I'm changing the map type based on the zoom level inside the zoomend
function.

So, I guess, if I could find the dom element of those map type buttons
and find out when they were clicked, then I could probably do
something. Anyone knows, how I could find the dom nodes for those map
type buttons and add an event listener to those? or, do you have any
other suggestion? Thanks

I'm not sure what you are asking. In the example:

there is only one createMarker function (there is another one that is
commented out). That page was originally written by someone else and
modified by me to have a working "marker checkboxes" functionality. I
posted it as an example of a way to do it without using xml for your
points.

It is also a little more complicated due to the fact that it originally
had colored icons, which were hosted on his site, when he removed them
I change it to use lettered icons from google.

how--if at all--to implement the topo layer for the Roman hills. In the

Mi pensas, 1° ke Sovetio kondutis naive en tiuj jaroj, kredante konfide

Usono estis, kajestas, profiti la okazon por kiel eble plej malfortigi
Sovetion kaj iom post iom pli kaj pli malgrandigi la cirklon cxirkaux
gxin! Nun Gxi komprenis, ke gxi vivis en dangxera mondo, kaj redevenas
militisma, rekonsitigas sian potencon (dank'al nafto, oro, ktp), kaj
komencas defii la usonan diplomation (per aliancoj, aux almenaux
mildigxon al Irano, Venezuelo, Cxinio.
Naivo venis ankaux de tio, ke oni kredis ke la konkuramo inter la du
blokoj, venis nur de ekonomipolitika malkonsento, sed estas
"realecpolitikaj" kauxzoj pli profundaj ol ideologioj.
Pli gxenerale, sia "venko" igis kapitalismo supere memcerta, kaj
aroganta (oni bone vidas tion en la ideologiaj debatoj en Francio
ekzemple, kaj cxe la "gazetistoj" kiuj farigxas pli kaj pli fakte
"mis-informistoj" la "gardhundecaj gazetistoj" kiel nomas ilin la franca
pensisto Halimi.), ili, kiel Fukujama, kredis, ke estis sia "fina
venko"! kaj fino de historio. Ideologia naivego ! ili estas, estas unu
el aferoj konstatitaj, tiom utopiaj kaj dogmecaj kiom estis la
komunistoj!! :-P . Ili do tiom premis senhonte la teron, kaj ties
logxantojn, kiel piratoj jxetigxantaj sur prirabotan predon, ke ili
komencas igi sin malamataj de cxie!

2° Pli gxenerale la planoj de Usono igas la mondon dangxera, cxar ili
nuntempe estas cinikaj, kaj "jesuistecaj" samtempe (v. la mensaj
tordajxoj per kiuj ili strebas pravigi uzon de torturo, ktp!). Kaj ili
jam vidas la dangxeron en la estonta potenco de Cxinio; tial,mi opinias,
ili tiom volas regi la naftajn ricxfontojn (do militoj aux minacoj al
irako, Irano, Venezuelo). Sed finance estas nova problemo, cxar ili
kutimigxis "vivi super siajn rimedojn" kaj profiti de la senkontrolan
povon, kiun doni al ili la uzo de dolaro por pagi nafton, ili havas nun
kolosegan sxuldon, pli kaj pli kreskantan, kiun ili neniam povos repagi,
kaj kiu apogatas nur sur la uzo de dolaro kiel rezerva valuto; Kiam la
aliaj landoj estas "superlacita" de tio kaj ne plu acxetos dolaron,
estos ekonomika katastrofo. Almenaux ke estus antaux tio, atoma
mondmilito! :-! aux ekologia katastrofo pro la plivarmigo! :-! :-!
(cxu vi auxdis, ke cxi somere oni presakaux povus iri gxis la norda
poluso per sxipo!!! la fandigxo de la arktaj glacioj estas 10-15foje pli
rapida ol oni prognozis. ...

Pri materiismo:
Se mi bone komprenas, vi ne konsentas kun materiismo, sed tamen vi estas
por scienca, kajracia vido de la mondo. Cxu vi konas la penson kaj
tezojn de Amit Goswami (estas pagxoj pri li en la reto, malfalicxe
sxajnas, ke nur en la angla) ? Li estas kvantuma fizikisto, kaj ankaux
li (cxefe _pro_ la kvantuma fiziko) kredas en - tute la malo ol
materiismo!- en ansoluta idealismo, ke ne materio kreas konscion, sed ke
konscio kreas la mondon kaj materion.

Mi ne estas fizikisto, kaj ne povas jugxi la valoron de liaj argumenton,
sed estas interesa vidi tion. Kaj certe indus fosi la problemon.
